When people ask me what I do, I tell them that I am a „Web Developer“. It’s more accurate than „Web Designer“ and much less narcissistic than „Webmaster.“ Even still, people have a hard time grasping what I do every day at my job. I’m sure if you asked 3 very important people in my life — my girlfriend, mother, and best friend — what I did at work every day, you’d get 3 different answers. So for their sake (and yours), I’ve decided to let you in on a little bit of the web developer culture: my background, the backgrounds of other developers I’ve known, and what we all do every day at work every day.

First a little bit about my web development background. I hopped on the Internet (read: AOL) in 1996. I was hooked; using the ’net became a daily occurrence for me. Yet the thought of actually creating content for the web didn’t happen until about 1998 when my Mom tasked me with designing the website for her non-profit organization. Determined, I taught myself FrontPage and created what I still consider the ugliest site ever, ever.

Your own apps should enhance the user’s perception that hardware and software are indistinguishable.

How I feel about tour & travelling

Often found in museums or historical sites, audio tours give you the chance to explore at your own pace while still soaking in a ton of information. If you want your travel experience to be about exploring on your own, this is a great way to do that while still getting tons of educational information on what you’re seeing. You likely won’t find audio tours outside of certain sights, so be prepared to do your research for other parts of your trip—like understanding daily life or the local culture.

Clean elegant interior design

White is the most commonly used color in interior design, especially in areas where bathing, cleaning and food preparation are prevelant. This is due to the fact that you can see anything that appears on white and wipe it up, keeping the surfaces clean and germ free. White combines well with black to form a stunning high contrast look. With the popularity of minimalist homes, decorating is lending towards using neutrals again. Keeping the interiors crisp white and clean, with often the use of subtle textures in kitchen bench tops, carpet or timber floors. Today I’ve found a great example of using white in interior design, combined with a little black. The final result is an elegant design with clean lines. Patients with memory loss can often remember songs and specific song lyrics. Doctors will often use music and lyric recall to help individuals retrieve lost memories. Certain music can trigger particularly unique memories- music from a specific time period will trigger memories from that time period. Want to remember something from the past? Listen to songs you listened to during that time!

Music and its effect on memory has been a heated debate in the scientific world, but researchers now have evidence that the processing of music and language, specifically memorizing information, rely on some of the same brain systems.

Being a photographer is no easy business; it takes a true artist to capture the emotion of the moment and take pictures that will make people smile for years to come. Oh, and of course it also requires an amazing camera and a lot of other expensive gear.

If you have what it takes to start a photography business, wonderful! When it comes to a business in photography, you can either have a home-based business or you can have an actual brick-and-mortar location. Either way, you’ll need a name. You don’t just want to pick any name, though; you want something that people will easily remember but is still unique and will make you stand out from the competition.
